Service 04

The layer everything else depends on.

Servers, storage, networks, and identity. This is the work that decides whether everything above it is stable, and it is where fifteen years of doing it hands-on actually shows.

What we build and run

We work across virtualization, storage, networking, and identity, on premises and in Azure. The common thread is that all of it is production work with real consequences, not lab exercises.

  • Virtualization. VMware and Hyper-V clusters, including shared storage on iSCSI, capacity planning, and host lifecycle.
  • Networks. Segmented VLANs, firewall policy, site-to-site VPN, and wireless designed for coverage instead of hope.
  • Zero trust access. Replacing flat VPN access with per-application access tied to identity and device posture.
  • Email migration. On-premises Exchange, Google Workspace, and tenant-to-tenant moves, cut over on a schedule with a tested rollback.
  • Azure. Landing zones, backup, site recovery, and cost review, because most Azure bills contain something nobody is using.

Migrations, specifically

A migration should finish on the weekend it was scheduled for. That happens when discovery is honest about what is actually connected to the thing being moved, when there is a tested rollback, and when the cutover runbook exists before the night itself. Most failed migrations were not technically hard. They were under-discovered.

What we do differently. We write the rollback plan before the cutover plan. If the rollback is not credible, the migration is not ready.

Working with what you have

Not every environment needs replacing, and we will say so when it does not. Plenty of aging infrastructure has years of safe life left and needs maintenance, not a refresh. Recommending a rebuild you do not need would be an easy way to bill more and a fast way to lose the relationship.

Questions

Common questions

Do you work with VMware, Hyper-V, or both?

Both, along with shared storage on iSCSI and Fibre Channel. Environment design follows what you already run and what your team can support, not vendor preference.

Can you move us from on-premises Exchange to Microsoft 365?

Yes. Hybrid and cutover migrations, including public folders and shared mailboxes, planned with a tested rollback and a defined cutover window.

What is zero trust network access?

Zero trust access grants a user access to specific applications based on their identity and device health, instead of putting them on the whole network with a VPN. It limits how far an incident can spread.

Do you handle Azure cost optimization?

Yes. Most Azure environments contain oversized resources, orphaned disks, and forgotten test workloads. Review usually pays for itself.

Thirty minutes, and you will know where you stand.

No pitch deck. We look at what you are running, tell you what we would do first, and you decide whether that is worth paying for.
